Guo Jie's design is a testament to the beauty of nature. The forest, described as an "art museum without walls," served as the primary inspiration for this project. The designer has artistically interpreted typical forest elements, creating an indoor space that allows people to experience nature. The use of wooden materials in the interior furnishings adds to the forest-like atmosphere.
What sets this design apart is its integration of interior space with the natural environment. The sales center, resembling a wooden house, appears to grow and breathe within the forest. The flexible floor plan and space design, interlaced blocks, and pure color create an open and elegant interior space. A wood carving work, clearly showing the veins of a leaf, hangs in the front lobby, dialoguing with the chandelier in wooden structure.
The Forest Park Sales Center is not just a building; it's an experience. The large window allows people to enjoy the changing seasons of the forest. The walls and ceiling, designed with a large quantity of wooden planks, are in the same color, creating an integral, natural, and poetic space. The wood-dominated space is complemented by lively jade green and elegant greyish green, creating a harmonious and pleasant atmosphere together with leather furniture in luxury gray.
The project, completed in November 2018, spans an area of 866 square meters. Located near Chongqing Central Park, the sales center will be repurposed as a kindergarten in the future. The building is sheltered by a 5,000 sq.m. metasequoia forest, a park within a park, built by the Vanke Chongqing team.
The design process was not without its challenges. The designers had to balance their desire to create a modern, creative space with their commitment to return to nature. However, their unique design ideas and innovative skills allowed them to overcome these obstacles, resulting in a space that makes humans a joyful part of nature.
In conclusion, Guo Jie's Forest Park Sales Center is a remarkable example of how architecture and nature can coexist harmoniously. The design not only provides a functional space but also offers a unique experience that allows people to connect with nature. This project is a testament to Guo Jie's innovative design skills and commitment to creating a more beautiful world.
